The Discipleship and Ministry Leadership Division

The faculty and staff of the Discipleship and Ministry Leadership Division are committed to creating environments that allow and encourage students to refine their character, prepare for their vocational calling and pursue their ministry potential.  The curriculum engages students intentionally and personally in three domains.

Think

Think Out Loud. The classroom is a safe place to think critically without being critical; challenge assumptions but not authority; discern eternal values in the context of cultural chaos; construct strategies with a mission focus and discover biblical truth that stands the test of time.  

Learn

Learn with Purpose. Active and purposeful learning characterizes the interactions between teacher and pupil and among learning peers. The multidimensional dynamic process of learning is formal and informal, relational and reciprocal.  Students acquire new information and skills in a variety of learning encounters and contexts. Each vibrant learning experience is shaped by specific methodology and enhanced by pupil motivation and participation.

Practice

Practice to Do. Learning must translate into action. Students discover and develop new skills in the laboratory of life. Mentoring, internships, practicums, and projects provide students opportunities to test ministry models for relevance and effectiveness in real ministry situations under the supervision and direction of experienced faculty and mentors.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
