About ELC

A High Standard

All teachers at Early Learning Center (ELC) at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminar attend regular trainings and are all a part of Louisiana Pathways Early Learning Career Development System. Louisiana Pathways provides support for  professionals in early education. This organization provides teachers with tools to gain more education through scholarships that help teachers move up the Louisiana Pathways Career Ladder. All lead teachers at the ELC  have or are pursuing a Child Development Associate credential or above. This is a nationwide transferable credential based on competency standards and shows proficiency in the areas of child development socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. Many of our teachers are also students at NOBTS and other local colleges. Many of them are pursing degrees in an early childhood education related field. This allows the ELC to be a place of development for our students and our teachers.

Pursuit of Excellence

The Early Learning Center at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary is a Tier III child care center licensed through the Louisiana Department of Education. We participate in  Louisiana Department of Education's Early Childhood Performance Rating.
